Bullfrog Chorus

The American bullfrog produces one of the lowest-pitched amphibian calls in North America. Its resonant throat sac acts as an acoustic coupler, letting a relatively small animal radiate low frequencies efficiently across open water.

In a soundscape, bullfrogs occupy the register everything else in a wetland leaves empty - which makes them exceptionally useful as a natural bass layer.
