Responsible use

SonicSenses treats AI-assisted music as a craft to be learned, not a shortcut around the people who make music. This page states our position plainly and sets out what we expect from users.

Responsible use: Using AI-assisted music tools in a way that respects copyright, performers’ rights and personality rights; that describes sound rather than copying it; and that discloses AI involvement where disclosure is expected.

Our commitments

Education before generation

The Music Style Library exists to teach how music is described, not to mass-produce tracks. Every preset explains which words control which musical dimension, so the reader leaves with transferable skill rather than a single output.

Original, descriptive presets only

All 24 presets were written from objective musical characteristics - tempo, instrumentation, harmony, texture, dynamics, arrangement and spatial production. None references an artist, band, song, album, label, film or playlist.

Artists and rights holders come first

We do not build features whose purpose is to imitate a specific performer or reproduce a protected work. Where a request would do that, the correct answer is to describe the sound instead.

No voice cloning or vocal impersonation

We do not offer, encourage or document any workflow for recreating a real person's singing or speaking voice. Vocal instructions in this library are generic - wordless vocalise, soft breathy tone, no lyrics.

Non-explicit by design

SonicSenses.com explores the emotional, immersive and sensory power of sound. It is an educational music and audio platform. Pornography, sexually explicit content and adult-entertainment uses are not permitted.

Honest labelling

AI-assisted audio should be described as such wherever the platform, client or publication requires it. We never suggest that generated material is a human performance or that any real artist was involved.

What we ask of you

The tools here are open to anyone, and responsibility for what you make with them sits with you. In practical terms:

Write prompts that describe musical characteristics rather than naming artists, songs, albums, labels or playlists.
Provide only lyrics you wrote or are licensed to use.
Check the terms of the AI provider you use, including its rules on commercial use and attribution.
Verify the licensing status of any output before publishing, distributing, monetising or broadcasting it.
Disclose AI assistance where a platform, client, competition or employer requires disclosure.
Keep generated content non-explicit and lawful in your jurisdiction.

Prohibited uses

The following are not permitted anywhere on SonicSenses, including in prompts submitted to generation features:

Requests to imitate an identifiable artist, band, producer, song, album, recording or performance.
Voice cloning, vocal impersonation or any attempt to recreate a real person’s voice.
Lyrics copied from works you do not own or have not licensed.
Sexually explicit, pornographic or adult-entertainment content.
Content that harasses, defames or impersonates a real person or organisation.
Claims of endorsement or affiliation with an artist, brand or institution that does not exist.

Health and wellbeing

SonicSenses publishes educational material about sound, music and the brain. Nothing on this site is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and generated audio is not a therapeutic device. If you use binaural or rhythmic material, start at a low volume and stop if you feel unwell. Our safety guidance covers listening levels, session length and who should take particular care.
