See any sound you can play.

Play music or sound in another browser tab, upload a file, use your microphone, or pick a SonicSenses track, and watch it become a living visual look. Everything renders on your device: no upload, no generation credits.

Want to design the look itself?

The Visualizer reacts to whatever you play. Layer Lab is where you build a look layer by layer and save it. Your current sound does not carry across - pick a source again there.

✏️ Add your prompt here

This is the prompt window. When the look is set to "Auto (from prompt)", the visualizer reads exactly what you type below. Describe mood, colours and motion - e.g. "warm amber embers, slow drifting smoke, cinematic" - then press Apply prompt.

? tips

Include: mood - colours - motion - texture - style. Example: "ominous crimson storm, pulsing embers, smoky haze, wide cinematic".

Visualizer: how this works, in words

What it does
Analyses whatever sound you point it at and draws a matching animated look in real time, on your device.
What it accepts
Four sources: audio playing in another browser tab that you explicitly share, an audio file from your device, your microphone, or a track you generated in the SonicSenses Studio. Audio is analysed locally and never uploaded.
What you control
The source picker, play and pause, the visual look, a reaction/intensity control, a text art-direction prompt that biases colour and pace, hide-controls, freeze frame, image save and video recording.
What changes
The canvas animates in time with the sound: level drives overall brightness and scale, and the balance between low, mid and high frequencies drives colour and motion. A separate text status line always states which source is active and whether anything is playing.
What it illustrates
How continuous audio measurements - loudness and spectral balance - can be mapped onto visible motion, which is the basic idea behind every music visualizer.
What it does not claim
The picture is a representation of the signal, not a scientific measurement, a spectrogram you should read for accuracy, or evidence of any effect on the brain or body. Watching visuals is not a treatment.
Keyboard and screen readers
Every control is a labelled button, slider or select in the tab order, and the canvas itself carries no information you cannot get as text: a polite live region announces the current sound source and playback state, and the look, intensity and prompt are all readable as text values. Flashing-sensitive visitors can lower reaction, and the site honours the operating system's reduced-motion setting.

Visualizer FAQ

Why does my browser ask me to share a tab?

Your browser - not SonicSenses - controls audio capture. It requires you to pick the tab you want to share so websites cannot silently listen to other tabs. The dialog is your browser's official, secure permission screen and cannot be skipped or restyled by any site.

What data does SonicSenses collect?

SonicSenses only receives the audio stream you choose to share. We do not record, upload or store the music; all analysis and rendering happens on your device. We never request video, screen contents, or access to tabs you do not explicitly share.

Can I stop sharing at any time?

Yes. Press the "Stop sharing" button in SonicSenses, or stop sharing directly from your browser's toolbar indicator. The audio stream ends immediately and nothing is retained.
