Playlist Studio: how this works, in words

What it does

Plays a run of your own audio files back to back through the visualizer and records the whole run as one continuous video.

What it accepts

Audio files you choose from your own storage - MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC or AAC. Files are read locally with an object URL and are never uploaded.

What you control

The track order, which look the visualizer uses, when recording starts and stops, and whether chapter markers are generated for the finished video.

What changes

One continuous video of the whole playlist, plus a list of timestamped chapters you can paste into a video description. Track names and running order are shown as text beside the player.

What it illustrates

How a single visual treatment reads differently across several pieces of music, because the imagery follows the audio rather than a fixed animation.

What it does not claim

It is a creative rendering and recording tool. It makes no claim about any effect of the audio or the imagery on mood, attention or health, and it does not clear rights for music you did not make.

Keyboard and screen readers

The playlist is a labelled list in the tab order with reorder and remove controls on every row, and recording state is announced in text rather than by colour alone.
